This-Far-We Have-Come.God Bless Kenya

Ahead of the first ever Presidential Debate in the history Kenya, most people are not optimistic about it since it may have little or no influence on the voter's decision. Why?Because most Kenyans have already decided who they are going to vote for,and their decisions are largely based on tribal factors/affiliation.But this debate should not be in vain;Let it be a chance for the Kenyan voter to gather quality and detailed information about each and every Alliance;its vision, manifesto and above all, assess the candidates INDIVIDUALLY.The Moderators must also make sure that it will be an issue-based debate so that the voters' decision can be influenced by the same(issues).
I have faith in this debate and I know it will not only be for entertainment purposes.Let us have a date starting from 6.30 p.m Kenyan time.

Vote WISELY.Your Vote is your VOICE.
Peace is all we need in Kenya.

Meanwhile,I would like to share wise words from  Maina Joe about the forthcoming elections and what is the type leadership this country is crying for.

In a context where absence of peaceful and noble means to change or replace leadership is synonymous with our own political arena; and where misuse of power, impunity and corruption by those in power is the order of the day, the need to establish appropriate modalities of nurturing and appointing our leaders becomes inevitable. Modalities that transcend the common notion of leadership being a personalized pre-occupation to the building of a culture of leadership being an institution; whose roots are the mutual concerns for the common good of all concerned. On adherence to the pillars upon which the hope of humanity rest like justice, integrity and tolerance, have only bled hate, suspicion and mistrust among individuals in our troubled society. Vices such as financial misconducts in our institutions have led to economic failure and the resulting despondency cannot be over-emphasized. On this light therefore, it is my true, honest and assumingly shared opinion that our society no longer want leaders. What we are now calling for is a rare blend of servant leadership, a leadership anchored upon shared vision, whose engines are courage determination, self-discipline and idealism. Leadership that seeks to persuade rather than coerce; one that portray the ability to inspire and the determination to develop a harmonious environment appropriate for effectiveness, efficiency and maximum output of the members of our society. A leadership so selfless edged on listening and mutual understanding; one where captains accept that their freedom to act only to the maxims of equity and within the limits of accountability.

Let’s rise to the occasion and demand rightfully for servant leaders, whose integrity and respect for Kenyans is complemented with their ability to conceptualize the future based on the understanding of the present quagmires haunting our modern society.
In a nutshell, lets us unite and bring to governance, a leadership that resonates with:
1.     Influencing the attitude towards national service instead of egocentric and self-centered, narrow interests.
2.     Visionary and Hope essential in inspiring the nation towards maximum output.
3.     Character and trust .That our leaders shall embrace transparency while discharging their service.
4.     Dependency and accountability. That achieving the national goals shall take primary attention on the praxis of reliability and responsibility.
It is my hope that we shall all embrace this spirit and take active role in crafting ethics for good governance while lobbying for human justice.
If we succeed, we will ultimately raise the banner of our country Kenya and our beautiful, endowed yet poor continent.
