Insanity; The disease that eats Kenya up

A German Philosopher,Albert Einstein described insanity as 'doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'.This quote promotes a person to try something else if they aren't happy with their situation,if nothing is not done differently yet different
results/improvements  are expected, then there is something wrong with the person's thinking
It's yet another election year and there is a lot of political excitement which may cause an upheaval to a country already dealing with a plethora of problems ranging from drought, high cost of living due to inflation and on the extreme during a time of war with AL Shabab.
There are also a lot of things waiting to be confirmed;the election's date,Nancy Baraza's case, the ICC confirmations amongst others. This has created a lot of anxiety and tension.
But of major concern is the race for the next CEO of the country come 2013.Many have shown an interest for the highest seat and for a chance to take over the house over the hill.
Some of those who are on the race are the same old folks we have seen over and over again, stained politicians who are lords of impunity, yet they still find the spine to convince us that they can take our country to greater heights.I would buy this since according to them, the bigger the lie and the often it is said the better it seems,so why not believe in them?
While i may not have any bone to break with these presidential hopefuls,i can't help but if any Kenyan will buy their cheap politics.
One of the personality factors that is associated to great leaders is  conscientiousness which means putting a lot of effort in what one does.Conscientious people are people who are
dependable, orderly, self-disciplined, achievement oriented, cautious, industrious, and deliberate. They are consistent and well organized, and reliable since they are likely to be good caretakers of their health too. They also tend to have great family relationships. Now that brings up a pointer to one Barry. But do we really have such a personality in Kenya who can be entrusted with our country's affairs?
We have been listening to these politicians telling us how hard they are working to unite Kenya, and of their greatest effort is to make sure that one candidate who seems to be so close to the throne does not make it.On would expect to see a serious candidate who can give at least five things he will do for Kenya, since we are in deep shit.A serious candidate should promise to address the issue of unemployment,Food security, poverty eradication, better health policy, education etc.Such a candidate should be one that can be trusted to keep his word and to have a past record thats speaks for him/her.
It doesn't mean we do not have such candidates as yet;they are there and are quite a number. One of those who is a youthful, visionary and hands on is one Peter Kenneth, the man many from Central would love to hate, and consider him as an outcast,a muthungu according to one arrogant Kabogo. He does not only represent an ideal candidate but also is a representative of the larger population of our country, the youth. We will need a president who understands and focuses on  the economic, social and political growth and development.PK does not have any excess baggage of any past record that may haunt him and hinder his performance as the CEO of Kenya.
There are also like minded candidates,result-oriented,reformers and who seem to have the interest of Kenyans at heart.Hon.Martha Karua and Raphael Tuju are equally competitive and deserving candidates.
But that is unlikely to happen since in Kenya,we have developed a culture of sycophancy, shenanigansm and 'mtu wetu'.We reward villains and kill the deserving. Those who stick their necks out have them cut off and they are treated as 'the bad one'.We hate them;we hate anyone who has the best interest for our country. We hate people who are not affiliated to our tribes,we hate people who do not go shouting nonsense and bashing each other in public.
